Milestones that Matter: Documenting Your Baby's First Year
We all know the first year can go by in the blink of an eye! You may be facing their first birthday while it still feels like you gave birth to them just last week. Don’t let these moments and milestones pass you by, book your little one’s milestone session today to capture their growing personality, facial expressions, and milestones! When I was pregnant with Asher, I knew I wanted to capture monthly photos to show just how quickly time goes by while also being able to seize his tiny little face as time went on and I couldn’t be more thankful that I did. When booking a newborn session with me, I make sure to capture your little one’s facial expressions and believe me, you don’t realize just how many they have until you see them all in photos. Doing those same expression photos can help show you just how quickly time goes by while getting to hold on to their baby' details for a lifetime while their details change right before your eyes each and every day.
When booking milestone sessions clients have the option to have sets a little more themed or simple yet sweet. I’ve had clients want to continue a theme from their newborn session, and even maternity sessions, to carry over into all their milestone sessions all the way to their cake smash session. The possibilties are endless. It’s great to also have an end goal in mind like wanting to frame a photo from each set in one of the beautiful collage frames available so we can plan ahead for cohesiveness but don’t worry! If you don’d have an end goal in mind I can surely help with ideas or there’s a great option of an album or print box to keep all the photos in one place to look back on whenever you want to walk down memory lane of your little one’s growth.
Here are some of the common milestones that clients book:
-Tummy Time: Tummy Time milestone portraits typically take place between 3-4 months old when your little one can hold their head up while on their belly. We would be sure to capture them on their belly but also offer a variety of looks with them on their backs, up close images, smiles, their emerging personality, and expression photos on a white backdrop that’s perfect for comparing for each milestone session.
-Sitter Session: Sitter Sessions are great for when is able to sit up unassisted and these sessions typically take place around 6-8 months old. By this time baby is a lot more expressive and we can still get a variety of looks from using different props, colors, and outfits.
-Standing: Usually around 9 months old babies are holding on to something and pulling themselves up pretty well! These standing sessions capture their pride in their new milestone and even bigger personalities. During these sessions we can use props for sitting and standing as well as laying down. Now at 9 months old some babies are over the laying down and want to show off their new standing up tricks and I’m here for it! Because that’s exactly what these sessions are all about. We have ladders, boxes, and even adorable photos of your little one' holding your hands!
First Birthday!- Some parents opt for milestone sessions for their baby’s first birthday instead of cake smash sessions and I promise cake smash or not, you will love getting to see just how big your baby has grown in the last year! From simple backdrops to ones with prints, we have so many vaireties available to create the perfect first birthday photoshoot.
