Why Freezing Time Through Photography Means So Much to Me as a Mom

Capturing Memories Isn’t Just My Job—It’s My Heart

As a mom of two boys—one who’s 9 and discovering who he’s becoming, and the other who’s almost 3 and still wrapped in that toddler magic—I’ve come to understand just how fast time moves.

The quiet snuggles.
The gap-toothed grins.
The muddy feet, the belly laughs, the firsts... and the lasts I didn’t realize were “lasts” until they were already behind me.

These little moments that make up motherhood—they slip by so quickly. And yet, photography has given me the gift of freezing time, just for a moment, so I can hold onto them forever.

That’s why this work means more to me than I can put into words. Because for me, photography isn’t just about pretty pictures—it’s about preserving legacy.

From Motherhood to Memory-Making

Every time I photograph a growing belly, a sleepy newborn, or a chubby-cheeked one-year-old smashing their first cake, I think about my boys.

I think about the images I’ll one day show their future spouses, the ones their children will study, searching for traces of themselves.

Because what we’re doing as mothers, what I’m doing as your photographer, is more than just documenting how you look in a certain season.

We’re preserving who you are.
Who your children were.
Who you loved and how it felt to love them.

Legacy Is Why I Pick Up My Camera

I want my boys to have a visual story of their childhood. A collection of real, tangible proof that they were loved fiercely, held closely, and seen fully. I want them to one day look back at our framed prints and albums and say, “That was us.”

That same desire fuels every session I capture for my clients.

Whether you’re bringing your very first baby into the world or celebrating your last baby’s first birthday, I see you. I see your story unfolding—and I treat it like it’s my own. Because I know what it feels like to want to stop time, even for just a second.

You Deserve to Be in the Frame Too

As moms, we’re so often the memory-makers, but rarely the ones in the photos. And I get it—it’s easy to stay behind the camera. But one day, your children will want to see you.

Your hands wrapped around theirs.
Your smile when you look at them.
Your arms holding them close.

That’s why my sessions aren’t just for your baby or your bump—they’re for you, too. To remind you how strong, beautiful, and important you are in your family’s story.
