Choosing the Right Photographer

Finding a photographer who specializes in maternity photography is crucial. Look for someone whose style resonates with you, whether it’s classic and elegant or modern and creative. A good maternity photographer will have experience in making expecting mothers feel comfortable and beautiful, guiding you through poses that highlight your glow and ensure you feel at ease.

Preparing for Your Session

Preparation is key to a successful maternity photoshoot. Here are a few tips to help you get ready:

  1. Timing is Everything: The best time for a maternity shoot is usually between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. By this time, your belly has a beautiful round shape, but you’re still comfortable enough to move around and pose. As some poses may require to be on the floor and we all know how hard it can be to get up from low places during the late stages of pregnancy.

  2. Wardrobe Choices: Choose outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Flowing dresses, fitted tops, and even simple bodysuits can highlight your bump beautifully. As your photographer, I offer a full client closet so that clients don’t have to worry about searching the internet to find beautiful outfits let alone having to bring loads of things to the studio. I also make recommendations for what your partner and/or children should where to best match the gowns/outfits selected from the client closet

  3. Pamper Yourself: Treat yourself to a bit of pampering before your session. A relaxing spa day or a little extra time for self-care can help you feel refreshed and ready for the camera. As a reminder, your hands and feet will be seen during your session and many clients like to take advantage of getting their nails done a day or two prior to their session.

    During the Photoshoot

A good maternity photographer will guide you through poses and settings that showcase your pregnancy glow. Be sure to communicate any preferences or comfort levels with your photographer. Here are some common poses to consider:

    • The Classic Belly Cradle: I will guide through various poses that include both holding your belly and not to give you plenty of variety in your gallery to choose from.

    • Partner Involvement: Poses include your partner in some shots to capture the love and excitement you both share for your new arrival.

    • Silhouettes and Profiles: These can highlight the contours of your body and the beauty of your pregnancy.

    Post-Shoot

After your session, you will be able to go grab lunch while I work through your soft-proof gallery. Then you will come back to the studio to select your images and decide how you would like to take your images home. I offer luxury products that you and your family will be able to enjoy for a lifetime. Whether that be digitals, luxury heirloom album, wall art, or table top options like acrylic block or photo print box. You’ll be able to take your time to review and select the ones that resonate most with you and if you need any help with deciding how to have your images printed for your home, I am there to help you every step of the way.

    A Treasure for the Future

Maternity photos are more than just pictures; they are a celebration of life and love. As you look back on these images in years to come, you’ll be reminded of the anticipation, joy, and excitement that marked this special time in your life.

Remember, every pregnancy is unique, and your maternity photos should reflect your personal journey. Embrace the experience, allow me to show the goddess in you, and cherish the memories captured during this incredible time.

Here’s to celebrating the beautiful journey of motherhood with images that you and your child will treasure forever. 🌟
